Māngere “Thanks Giving” is an event developed by local 17yr old DJ and entrepreneur j-Hustle. The very first event was held last year at Massey Homestead and due to its success in bringing the wider community together for a day of music and entertainment in the grounds of the homestead, J-Hustle is keen to put the event on again. As he describes, ‘the purpose of the event is to celebrate and give back to our community of Māngere East’, which has supported the development of his own career. This year J-Hustle is pairing up with Toko and RepFM for support with the infrastructure for the event. With a stage to showcase local DJ’s and musicians, craft, merchandise and food stalls, the community are looking forward to seeing the event return.
