We’re proud to be supporting local choreographer and performer Justin Haiu as he develops a new show by Jandel J & Funky Friends called ‘Motuhake’. The show will be held at Mangere Arts Centre in 2021 and part of the Auckland Live programme.
About the company
Jandel J, aka Justin Haiu, and the Funky Friends was brought together in 2013 by a young team of emerging Pacific artists creating a mix of dance, comedic, fun-filled theatre shows for children and family.

When a young boy discovers some marionettes in his grandfather’s attic, these dusty puppets magically spring to life! Meet a whole host of unique and hilarious characters, and a very magical umbrella, as they work to lead the young boy on a transformative journey to overcome his fear and conquer his dreams of being on the stage.
