Established in 2020, a group of passionate women, banded together to ignite and strengthen the fire within and birthed an all-women’s ailao afi team, Wahine Toa Siva Afi.
Embracing a craft that is predominantly performed by males, Wahine Toa Siva Afi graces the stage alongside their very own Wahine-Toa Drumline, with the sound of the roaring flame.
WTSA would like to continue to operate their development squad in Māngere by running workings of 6-8 weeks long. The WTSA team would like to extended their expertise in the art of Siva Afi for adults 18+ and support the continuation of practice and professional performance opportunties.
WTSA started with amateur dancers who are now professionals a the top of their level in Aotearoa. They wish to grow the artform and their team of tutors to keep up their impressive momentum.
