do you have news or an event you’d like to share or promote?

The Māngere Ōtāhuhu Arts website Noticeboard and E-Newsletter is a place for creative artists, groups and organisations in the local area to share, seek, promote, and post a "call-out" to the local community.
You can submit your notice for either the Noticeboard, or the monthly E-Newsletter or both. We'll also endeavour to share your notice on the Māngere Ōtāhuhu Arts Facebook page if you like.

Request for Proposals – Emerging Digital Creatives

Public art is calling for project proposals from emerging creative practitioners to create a new digital artwork to be displayed in their local community that will complement an Auckland-wide programme of digital artwork during the Matariki Festival from 20 June to 15 July 2020.

This pilot programme aims to support and enable local and emerging artists to activate public spaces and create a network of digital assets across the region for future use.

How to apply

Proposals are due to be delivered as a digital submission no later than 6 March 2020, 12 midday and should include:

  • information about the artist (up to 500 words, including examples of previous projects)

  • a description of concept (up to 500 words)

  • details of chosen site and platform (must include location and confirmation from site manager to use the platform during specified times and dates)

  • technical brief (including playback specs, ratio, resolution, audio specs, additional equipment)

  • budget, including artist fees and all production costs and installation

  • supporting material to better understand the project (up to five images and five URL links)

Please ensure that:

  • your proposal is an original artwork

  • the application is emailed as a PDF document

  • your name appears on all pages of the application
