PERFORMANCE: Matariki for Tamariki, 19 - 20 July

PERFORMANCES

Māngere Arts Centre
Friday, 19 July at 12pm
Saturday, 20 July at 3pm & 6:30pm

A celestial celebration by Sean MacDonald where a band of players, a group of friends and a whānau travel throughout Aotearoa and its landscape of lush ngahere (forests), mighty maunga (mountains), and majestic moana (oceans), encountering the flora and fauna through seasonal changes. The journey begins and ends through the setting and rising of the Matariki whetū (star) constellation.

Our NZDC dancers will take the stage for six performances alongside students from our two Youth Schools in majestic choreography paired with evocative design. This programme will leave kids and “kidaults” alike filled with joy and gratitude for the whenua (land) we call home.

YOUTH WINTER SCHOOL

Māngere Arts Centre
15 - 20 July 2019

Experience a week of exceptional dance training taught by NZDC professional dancers. This intensive will challenge technical and creative potential through daily classes in contemporary, choreography and repertoire as well as provide the amazing opportunity for students to perform alongside NZDC Company members in the premiere season of Matariki for Tamariki.
