The journey to confidence can be filled with a mix of emotions. Join us for an exploration into creativity, presenting yourself and having fun.
Guest tutors:
Leroy Lakamu - Graduated from Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama Schoolthe NZ drama school Toi Whakaari in 2011.
Leroy has workshopped his solo from drama school with funding from creative communities and guidance from Playwright Victor Roger. Leroy traveled extensively with the Duffy books in homes group and performed and devised with the physical theatre company Red Leap Theatre
Clint George Vilitau - Is an avid Youtube content creator and works as a canteen social worker, supporting young people in families affected by cancer.
Jase Manumua - Is a film and theatre practitioner currently studying and working through the South Seas Film & TV School south seas film school. Jase is states that he loves to write and direct with acting coming in a close second.
Tawanda Manyimo - is a Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School Graduate and has been featured in local productions as well as overseas having worked on Ghost In The Shell with Scarlett Johanson. He has acted beside, Guy pierce and Robert Patterson in Rover. Tawanda was a tutor at Mix it, a theatre group designed to give refugees a voice in Aotearoa and most recently was a tutor at the performing arts school Excel.
ABOUT:
Our group is based in Mangere but caters for all people with a longing to speak clearly and articulate themselves strongly in their everyday lives. These workshops are designed to empower people with Self-expression and self-confidence through the dramatic arts. Drama has many tools designed to empower people with multiple forms of self-expression and presenting ones self. We encourage interactive learning with the opportunity to create and present your own form of theatrical, musical, spoken word into existence.
