Fafswag 6 - Vunilagi Vou, Oct Exhibition

FAFSWAG 6 is a low key celebration of the Auckland-based collective, FAFSWAG's sixth anniversary. Established as a platform to build an online community for young, brown, queer arty types, FAFSWAG's co-founders Tanu Gago and Pati Solomona Tyrell have inspired an art movement that has left an indelible mark on New Zealand and Pacific art history.

FAFSWAG 6 is a considered collection of FAFSWAG's archive curated by Leilani Kake and Ema Tavola, who have been fangirls since day one. The show presents photography and experimental works from the collective's humble beginnings to works shown in national and international exhibitions.

The exhibition acknowledges members past and present, and the community that has grown around FAFSWAG and its South Auckland beginnings since 2013.

FAFSWAG 6 has been produced with support from Māngere Ōtāhuhu Arts (Māngere Ōtāhuhu Local Board) as part of its investment in artists and creative practice from the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu area.
