do you have news or an event you’d like to share or promote?

The Māngere Ōtāhuhu Arts website Noticeboard and E-Newsletter is a place for creative artists, groups and organisations in the local area to share, seek, promote, and post a "call-out" to the local community.
You can submit your notice for either the Noticeboard, or the monthly E-Newsletter or both. We'll also endeavour to share your notice on the Māngere Ōtāhuhu Arts Facebook page if you like.

You can submit your notice at anytime and it will be published within 1 -2 days. Simply fill in the notice submission form here: http://bit.ly/35cb03s Or email mangereotahuhuarts@gmail.com with your notice: title, jpeg image and text.

Frangipani Smiles - Youth Writing Workshops & Competition

Helen Tau’au Filisi presents:  

Frangipani Smiles - Youth Writing Workshops  &   A sense of belonging - a publication of collected poetry and prose, in partnership with  Mana Māngere Writers Collective and Māngere - Ōtāhuhu youth.  

‘Frangipani smiles’ Writing workshop and competition:  

Writing workshop especially tailored for Māngere - Ōtāhuhu Intermediate/Middle/High schools students – held at Otahuhu Library during the week of: 21 - 24 May 2018.  Attendees of the workshops will be eligible to submit writing for the ‘A sense of belonging’ publication of short stories and poetry collection to be launched in September 2018 at Otahuhu Library.  If you'd like to attend or know some one who might, please encourage them to see their school librarian for details.  There will be one class/group per school, registrations are essential to be considered for the 'A sense of belonging' publication. ‘A sense of belonging’ publication:  ·      

The theme of this combined collection of poetry and prose will be ‘a sense of belonging’ – where writers consider their ‘sense of belonging’ to the communities of Mangere and/or Otahuhu.· A book launch event will be held with writers from Mana Mangere Writers collective and young writers of the 'Frangipani smiles' workshop. Launch details will be announced shortly.
